Let's Talk About Blogs Linky

It’s Wednesday and we’re realizing our Spring Break is speeding on by!  We’ve had some good fun and nice relaxing times so far!  Tonight we found a fun linky hosted by Melissa at First Grade Smiles.  She has created a template with questions and feedback that would be helpful to new bloggers.  Seeing that we are relatively new bloggers, we thought we would share our feedback and also connect to what advice other bloggers have to give.

Please feel free to provide us some feedback in a comment!  Also, head over to First Grade Smiles to see other advice/feedback from bloggers!

  3. Hello to my fellow First Grade Buddies :)

Thanks so much for linking up! Your answers were great and I loved your question at the end. I completely agree that seeing products in action is the best way to go. Since I am also still pretty new to blogging, I don't always take as many pictures as I would like. I get to the end of my day and realize I forgot to take pictures. This is one of my goals for myself. Especially since I like seeing pictures on other blogs I read.

    1. Pictures are hard; we are always reminding each other to take pics! We still forget sometimes even with reminders! Great linky idea!

  5. That's great advice to actually show the product in action. I need to do that more. Most of the time I'll show the product when it is done because I'm just so excited and then I'll use it later in my room. I take pictures then but it would be best for others to see it all together!

    1. It's hard to get it all done; isn't it?!? I think pictures help show that the idea is actually worth trying and practical. Thanks for stopping by, Jess!

  6. Very interesting questions and great answers. I honestly am turned off by many blogs who seem to promote or should I say over promote their products. As much as I enjoy the creativity that goes into many of the products out there I get overwhelmed at all the redundancy and I too would prefer to see how the products are used in the classroom. It seems that a lot of the teachers making products are constantly switching products they made in and out of their classroom almost weekly, I personally don't feel that is really necessary, but that is my opinion. I love that the blogging world gives me an opportunity to see what teachers are doing in their classrooms and it always amazes me at how much freedom some school districts give their teachers in designing and implementing curriculum. It is fascination to see how those of us in states who have adopted the common core interpret it in their daily teaching, once again I am sure driven by what districts/schools allow or do not allow. Thanks for the thought provoking post.

    1. Yes, Common Core has definitely changed things. We are finding that it keeps us very focused; we can not stray often as we have so many things to teach!

  7. What a great idea about showing TPT products in action. There are those that over promote. In fact every blog they write is about their product. There are those that know how to balance it, but your idea solves many problems. I am probably going to steal it, just to forewarn you!

    1. We are relatively new to blogging, so we are trying hard to find a balance. Steal away! :)
