Five for Friday 6/14/13

It's Friday....and it's our first day of SUMMER!!!  School was out on Monday and we had workdays through Thursday.  We are 2 happy gals right now!

ONE
We'd like to share our summer excitement and offer 20% off of our entire TpT store!  Head on over!

TWO
Last Friday we blogged about switching classrooms for our end of the year fun center days.  We have 2 more of those to share that we did last week, these were both a big hit too!

THREE
Sarah taught KG at our current school the year before I started teaching there.  The year she taught KG she had a cutie pie student that I ended up teaching in first grade last year.  She was a DOLL!!!  Well, this year she visited both of us to say hello, every.single.morning.  It was very sweet.  Last week she made us each one of these posters, how cute is this...

The poem is hard to read in the picture, so here it is:
"To my favorite teacher, I love you to PIECES.  You shine just like a STAR. Thank you for being as SWEET as you are.  I love our morning chats, they brighten up my day.  I think you're the best teacher in the MILKY WAY!  You gave me such a good start and made me quite a SMARTIE.  I'll see you next year.  Have a great summer party!  Hugs and KISSES."

Gotta love primary age kiddos!

FOUR
On our workdays this week, we cleaned...and cleaned...and cleaned.  We recycled things, threw things away, organized stacks piled on our desks from the year and so on.  It sure feels good to be clutter free in our classrooms again!

FIVE
Yesterday we attended Letterland training.  Now we feel like we have a lot to learn before August...character names, songs, games, structures, etc!  Do any of your schools use Letterland in first grade?

Have a GREAT weekend.  One more thing before I sign off...

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Molly! Yes, the recycle bin was filled to the brim. Now that we've had Common Core for a year we know what we don't need!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Sandy! Cleaning is such a tedious job at the end of the year, but I can't imagine leaving all the clutter for August!
