Mentor Text 8.11.13

We are linking up with Collaboration Cuties for their Mentor Text Linky.  This week the theme is Math.  The book we chose, When a Line Bends...A Shape Begins, is a book that was given to us by the Math Department in our county.  The kiddos enjoy!  When a Line Bends...A Shape Begins  is a fun rhyming book that reviews shapes; both a description of shapes and vivid examples of objects that are made with the shapes.  The pictures are very colorful and engaging.

This activity is a very simple one that could be used for a homework assignment; sparking creativity with shapes at home!

  1. Such a great find to really help with creativity and to get kids thinking! I would love to have your library of books because I swear you two have the cutest stories! I always end up pinning your books/posts so that I can go back to them when I introduce this topic. Thanks so much for sharing this great story it looks like a fun and engaging book to really get kids thinking about shapes!
