Motivate Me Monday!!

Good Morning!!  We're super excited to start our new linky party, Motivate Me Monday!  We want this to be a quick link-up just to share a little something to help us all get the week off to a great start.  Please join in with us by posting a picture, quote, great story....something you find "motivating" and helps remind us why we love teaching!  Anything to give us a smile on a Monday!  We look forward to seeing what you have to share!

Here's our bit of motivation for this today:
At least we look good for now!!  We're off to our school retreat for the day.  It tends to be rather boring unfortunetly; not a lot of time to talk to each other, rather it is crammed with lots of sitting and training :(.  Hopefully we won't look quite as bad as the end of the year owl after just today!

  2. One of my greatest moments as an SLP in the schools happened when I was working with a hearing impaired student who had YET to get hearing aids of any kind at the age of 5 (yes you heard that right 5 years old, NO amplification or previous therapy). She was still in a PK classroom b/c she was profoundly delayed. It took about a month of therapy but the day she finally connected sign language to the objects they represent was truly AMAZING!!! It really was like that that famous scene in the Miracle Worker where Helen Keller "gets it" for the first time. My student was running around the classroom from object to object picking it up and looking at me to sign what it was. Then she would sign it too! One of my BEST speech therapy moments of all time!!! That was my Ann Sullivan moment for sure!!!!
