Five for Friday 1.10.14

We hope you've had a great week!  Here's a peek into our week:

We are so excited for our First Grade Buddies 1 Year Anniversary!

We have been working hard on assessments this week.  Our kiddos are tired of them and we are too!  They'll be done soon (we hope!!!).  Are you assessing at the moment?

"How To" writing has been keeping us busy.  This week we wrote about "How to Blow a Bubble."  This was actually very hard for them!  It was a fun experiment though.  The kiddos loved chewing gum in school!  One kiddo asked me, "Did you ask Mrs. J. (the principal) before you gave us this gum???"  We found this cute activity on Pinterest / The Teacher Wife and they turned out cute!

We have been busy, busy, busy making more Math Bags!  Math Bags have been a very popular product in our store for KG / 1st / 2nd grades.  We decided to take on seasonal / holiday themed Math Bags.  We started with first grade (Winter and Valentine's Day), but after requests for KG and 2nd, we have been making those too!
We have added:

and we are working on KG Winter and 2nd Grade Valentines Day as we speak!

We have had so much luck with Math Bags in our classroom and we are so happy to be able to share them with other teachers!

We started Rainbow Math this week!   The kiddos were SO excited to test and move from their red cards (+1's) to their orange cards (+2's).  We did a post about Rainbow Math over on the Collaborative Blog, Who's Who and Who's New this past Monday.  Check it out for more information!!!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm!
