Five for Friday 2.28.14

TGIF!!  We can't believe it's March tomorrow…can you?  Here's a peek into our week:

It's the BIG sale!  Head on over to our store to find some great goodies for your class!

While on sale, you may want to check out a few things for March!

Do your kiddos need reminders for positive behavior now that Spring is on it's way?  We know our kiddos will!  Last year we used "Leprechaun on a Classroom Shelf" in our classrooms and boy did it work!!!  WIth this packet a special Leprechaun friend visits your room and encourages kindness and hard work.  The kiddos love finding the special friend each day and all the activities that go with it!   This packet includes a fun journal for students to write in, letter templates, writing activities, awards for students, and much more!

Pictures of our Leprechaun adventures last year!

Don't forget to take a look at our  St. Patrick's Day Math Bags available for
KG, 1st, and 2nd Grades!   Math Bags are definitely one of our best sellers.  If you need easy to set up and student friendly math centers, these will be perfect for you!

As you may remember from other posts, we have teamed up with Amanda and Aylin over at Learning to the Core to have classroom pen pals.  This week our kiddos read their February pen pal cards and as always they LOVED them!  It's been such a fun activity this year!!!

February wouldn't be complete without a President's Day project!!!  We have had a wild winter this year so after several snow days we finally got these done!

We are finishing up our "ALL ABOUT" writing unit.  The student's enjoyed writing and sharing their "All About Me" booklets.   Love the detailed self portrait in the first picture!

A little while back we blogged about All About books, a fun book to read to introduce them and a freebie to help your kiddos organize their thoughts about an All About topic.  Click here to visit that post and you'll find the freebie below!

We are still working on shapes as well.  We read a book called When a Line Bends a Shape Begins.  This book has great illustrations that show how simple lines can become interesting shapes and objects.

After reading the book, the kiddos took a simple line and turned it into an interesting shape / object:

Have a SUPER weekend!
