Currently and Mentor Text 3.2.14

It's MARCH!  Time for Currently!

Sarah's:
( my ???? part are my daily MUST haves!!)
Tamra's:
(my ???? is part of my daily routine right now!!)

And now for Mentor Text:
We are also linking up with Collaboration Cuties for their Mentor Text linky.  This week the theme is Language Arts.  We chose a book we will be using soon…The Leprechaun Trap.  This is a fun book to read to to young kiddos for St. Patrick's Day!  Read more about this book below:

We found this book to be especially great to use in conjunction with our "Leprechaun on a Classroom Shelf" packet.  In our classroom we have our leprechaun arrive the Monday before St. Patrick's Day.  When he arrives there is a book next to him that tells the students that he'll be in a new hiding spot each day and that his purpose is to look for kindness and hard work.  He "writes notes" to the class each day remaining them of these things.  He also leaves special certificates out for students that have shown hard work or kindness.  The students enjoy looking for him each morning and we love having a new classroom management "technique" about the time when kiddos are getting a little crazy in the classroom!

This packet includes:
-Leprechaun on a Classroom Shelf story
-student journals
-student certificates (for hard work and kindness)
-a variety of writing prompts
-a mapping activity (to map the Leprechaun's journey in the classroom)
