Four Square Fridays // Vol. 3

Welcome to Four Square Fridays...Volume 3!
Each Friday we will post 4 quick things -- basically anything we want to share with you at the moment about teaching, TpT, family life, and more!

This week's 4 squares....

This set of letters has been a dream for my reading groups.  The letters are sorted perfectly and are color coded (red - vowels // blue - consonants), and there are plenty of each letter for my group of 4-6 students to be able to practice the same word.  I put all the letters needed for the word we are working on in little plastic cups.  All 6 of the student cups fit nicely in a supply basket.   This makes them easy to take out AND put away!

We are working REALLY hard on written response; I've seen big improvement lately since we have practiced all year.  This product is one of my favorites that we have; we scaffolded these passages so kiddos first have LOTS of support to provide a written response, then we take away a bit of support, and finally students are responding and providing evidence on their own.

3 //  saw vs. was
If you teach first grade you realize this struggle is REAL!!  I have a few students that consistently say "was" when they come to "saw" and vice versa.  I made this quick reminder card to help (pointing out that saw starts with s - like you see something).  So far, so good.

The hunt for a lip gloss that is not sticky is over - this lip shimmer is soft and a touch shiny.  It comes in a lot of fun colors that are perfect for spring and summer!  Anything that reminds you of summer is a win, right?!
