Simple Science : Grow a Christmas Tree

Grow a Christmas Tree Experiment
This experiment is an easy set up and has an extended observation time.  It's perfect to add a little holiday spirit to your classroom! The prep work for this experiment could be timely, depending on the skill level of your kiddos.  You'll need to cut sponges into a Christmas tree shape.  Getting the trees ready to go is the easy part!  Find out more about this experiment here!

Wet the sponges, spread on some seeds, spray the seeds with water.

And now wait...have kiddos observe and record what they see every few days.  Come back and check in with us as we observe our own!
About a week in, we had a few sprouts!
 More sprouts!
 It keeps growing!
Hooray!  Looks like it is time to trip the tree!

Your kiddos will LOVE this part!  Carefully, they can trim the grass.  It really looks like a Christmas tree after the trim!
