Math Bags and Literacy Bags!
Let us introduce you to 'Bag' Centers, our easy to prep and easy to use Math and Literacy centers! We have been using these centers for years! We created these to have a system where students could work on independent Math and Literacy activities while we met with students in small groups. We didn't want to...change math centers often OR use lots of colored ink, so our 'Bag' centers are good to use for 9 weeks AND can be made with just a black and white printer / copy machine and colored card stock! That's right! With our Math and Literacy centers, you..

The Math and Literacy centers are easily stored away in plastic zip bags. Assembly includes printing, cutting, and sorting. Detailed directions are included in every set of Math and Literacy Bags so you can set up and smoothly manage the use of these SIMPLE centers in your classroom! After assembly, you may need to grab some common classroom material and manipulatives to include in the bags...clothespins, dry erase markers, dice, cubes, counters.

Each set of Math Bags has 10 centers + a teacher choice center and technology center card. Each set is to be used for 9 weeks. Math Bag activities can be done independently. We created a center activity for each math strand and standard within a complete set of Math Bags. Each Math Bag is designed so that it can be done by one student or in a pair of students. We want the Math Bags to be engaging, but also at a skill level where students can work independently. The instruction pages were made in a kid friendly way (there are both words and pictures).

Math Bags have a variety of maninpulative tasks to engage kiddos, like sorting, clipping, matching, and drawing.

Math Bag To-Go sheets are printable task sheets that match the center activities. You can easily place the sheets into the center bags. After students complete the Math Bag center, they can show what they have practiced during centers by completing a paper task sheet and turning it into you.

Let's Take a Look at Literacy Bags in Action!
2nd Grade Literacy Bag
Literacy Bags are set up in packs by strand: Reading Literature, Reading Informational, Reading Foundations, and Language. Each set of Literacy Bags has 10 centers. Similar to Math Bags, Literacy Bags have easy directions with picture cues and are great to be played with partners. Unlike Math Bags, Literacy Bags are not set up in sets for each quarter. Instead, you can select across the bags which skills are the best fit for your classroom at the time.
